Happy Canada Day!

We'll be open our regular hours for Canada Day (Noon - Midnight). If there's a decent sized group, we might even stay open later for you. Come on by and get in on some serious game time.

To help celebrate, we're going to be charging $2/hr for time the entire day. If you're at AP by noon, you can purchase up to 12 hours at this special reduced rate (basically; you can purchase up to the amount of hours that are left in the day). You don't have to use all the time you purchase that day so stock up! This is a members only deal.

Our 21st lock-in will be held on Saturday, May 29th. Come on down and book up a spot! You know you want to!

Same details as always; $25 for members and $30 for non-members (including GST 'cause we're awesome that way) and an extra $15 if you want to start up at noon on Saturday instead of 10PM. As mentioned, the start time will be 10PM and we'll wrap it up at 10AM Sunday morning (just in time for church). We'll have a pizza break around 12:30 in the morning.

On The House

This weekend Valve has seen fit to let everyone in the world try Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for no charge and lay on double XP for those that already own it. I thought the least we can do at Absolute Power is give everyone a day on the house to get in on the action. So, this Sunday, May 9th, I'm giving all our members an unlimited account on me.

Membership has it's benefits.

How the heck do we do it? Valve certainly doesn't reimburse us for our give-aways. Well, I'm hoping that you'll come down with a whack of friends and maybe buy some yummy jerky, a Mountain Dew, a couple of Cokes, a dozen chocolate bars and maybe a 20 hour pack or two to top up your account. Money's money, and we're happy for your patronage!

Fine Print?

Well, there was bound to be some catch, right? Not really. We reserve the right to limit your free play to 2 hours to let others have a chance to play too. That said, if there's nobody waiting, you can game uninterrupted and play from noon to midnight. Also, absolutely no outside food or drink (for obvious reasons) but that's a standing rule anyway. Lock-In 020!

Hey everyone! We're going to be holding our 20th lock-in event on Saturday March 6th! You can get in 12 hours of over-night gaming starting at 10:00PM. All the details can be found on our event page HERE.

Jockey!!

Left 4 Dead 2 is now available and we're holding a little party (just like we did for the original a year ago. Tomorrow night (Thursday November 19th) we'll be setting everyone's account to "unlimited" for the evening. The cost? How does "FREE" grab you? Just come down anytime after 6:30PM and if we've got a free seat, it's yours for the entire night. This will be first come, first served and preferential treatment will be given to those that are already there playing. This is also open to non-members so bring down a friend that's new to AP.

We're Oscar Mike!

Krug's on a roll! He's got Modern Warfare 2 up and running on all the machines now.

If you haven't heard, this PC version is a bit weird. It's a Steam only installation so we've created a number of house accounts for you to try the game out with. However, if you want to track your personal progression through the multi-player portion of the game, you need to purchase a copy for yourself.

We're such great folks here at AP that we brought in several retail copies to sell through to those that haven't purchased the title yet. We'll be selling at the same $60 that everyone else is but we'll also be throwing in a free hour for anyone that purchases the game from us. You won't see FutureShop or Wal*Mart doing that for you.  Man, we're awesome.

Come on down and check it out. We'll be running a little in-house competition over the next month for a pile of prizes (more details on that next week).

This Saturday is Halloween and guess who's working the "graveyard" shift. Me! Well, if I'm stuck working Halloween night, I might as well make it fun. So, beginning from the start of my shift at 7:00PM until we close, come down in your Halloween garb and I'll let you play free for the entire evening. That's right,...FREE. Just show up dressed up and I'll set your account up as "unlimited" for the rest of the night. That's the kind of cool guy I am. This will be first come, first severed so make sure you come down early. Preference will be given to those that are already here playing games (we open at noon) and discretion on what constitutes as being a "costume" will be up to me (not you) so make sure you do at least a half-decent job or NO FREE TIME FOR YOU! Oh, and we'll probably have some treats too.
